Hi!

I would like to start by telling you how great I think it is that greengate.se is working out, that there are so many visitors! The mixed musicstyles, along with the fact that the music is free to download (and not yet released) seems to be a good idea. From the start in oct- 05 you folks have downloaded more than 35GB mp3:s! That´s quite a lot! Many people have written positive comments in the guestbook and I´ve met a lot of people in town who says it´s cool with a website that presents local talents. For me Hagfors (my hometown) has always been associated with music, many great musicians lives/started out in Hagfors.

The initial reason for starting this website was to have a place to present my own songs, instead it was other people´s projects and music that was uploaded first. It´s not until now that I´ve created a page presenting my very own songs. So why has this taken such a long time? Well.... a long time..., it´s only taken me about 20 years or so :-). I wrote my first song when I was about 15 years old (in an old music-reharsalroom behind "Södra skolan" with a way too big guitar hanging around my neck) and since then I´ve written a lot of songs and lots of ideas. However since I´m so full of self-critisism, and on top of that have focused more on other peoples projects, it has taken me some time to get here.... a very long time... I do have a lot of songs and ideas that I believe are quite good, but I never seem to really complete them ... "just have to adjust that rythmguitar in verse 3..."

So, the whole idea was to publish my own music on the website and therefore I decided to write a new song and finally upload it to greengate. It was a bit tricky to decide wich musicstyle to focus on since I work with a lot of different styles all the time but I knew that it would feel great (regardless of the song I chose) to finally have something out there. Hopefully this would also bring new energy into my songwriting.

I have more songs in production at the moment and my plan is to publish these as well (a s a p). I´ll try not to be so self-critical and instead I´ll leave that part up to you guys. I truly want your opinions on my songwriting and I will appreciate constructive critisism. The main reason for making my music avaliable free of charge is to have your feedback. Your views will hopefully help me improve my songwriting.

When I´m writing and producing music I prefer to do it alone. Most of the time I come up with lyrics while taking some chords on an acoustic- or electricguitar. After I´ve found a verse and chorus that feels ok I move on to the next part and add drums n´ bass. I do this to find the right feeling/groove of the song as early on as possible. After this I try different rhytms, beats, styles etc until I find something that will go along with my initial feeling for the song.

Since I´m a bit stubborn when it comes to my own songwriting (I like to work independently) I write the lyrics, compose the music, play the drums, bass, guitarr, keyboards, vocals, and then I make the arrangements in Cubase such as mixing and mastering etc. A lot of work, but it´s fun all the way!
